Nearly nine years ago, Simone Hart Sibbald first graced our cover. At the time, she was already on a trajectory few could predict. Today she is at the helm of three complementary enterprises, and her name is synonymous with technical excellence, bold innovation and steadfast leadership in a niche but critical industry.
Early Roots and Entrepreneurial Spark
Simone’s journey into the ventilation hygiene and maintenance sector is rooted in intuition. She often recalls that it was her friend and former boss Caroline Robertson (Publisher of 17 Degrees Magazine) who planted the seed:
“You should be running your own business, there’s so much opportunity in domestic cleaning.”
By 2005, Simone was active in domestic and commercial oven cleaning, and in 2006 she incorporated Kitchen Perfect(now re-incorporated and branded as Perfect Service Solutions) with her stepfather, Eddie Tierney, and former husband.
That same year, Falkirk Council approached the young company to tender for commercial contracts across schools, care homes and leisure centres. Securing and retaining that local contract was a decisive early win that helped establish the credibility which would carry the business forward.
Perfect Service Solutions: Cleaning with Precision
Today Simone serves as Founder and CEO of Perfect Service Solutions, based in Stirling. The firm provides ventilation hygiene, deep cleaning and compliance services to food, facilities management, construction and hospitality sectors across the UK and North England.
Although their operations include cleaning, these are not in the colloquial sense, but technical, compliance-driven and audit-ready, with teams qualified to assess ductwork, fire dampers, air conditioning systems and grease extract systems.
From its beginnings in 2006, the firm has scaled steadily. It now employs nearly 40 staff and operates from Stirling. In February 2026, the company will celebrate its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of growth, resilience and evolution under Simone’s leadership.
What Sets It Apart: Turnkey Operations and Guiding Principles
Simone often speaks of the company’s goal to offer turnkey operations. Services extend to regular inspection, reporting, maintenance advice, compliance verification and remedials.
Her teams are qualified to National Occupational Standards and are among only a small number of companies with personnel legally qualified to advise and report on ductwork, fire damper performance and overall system compliance.
Over time, this technical expertise has set Perfect Service Solutions apart from many cleaning companies that treat the service as a routine cleaning activity.
Recognitions, Awards and Industry Standing
Simone and her companies have not gone unnoticed. Her achievements include:
- Shortlisted for Entrepreneur of the Year at the Forth Valley Chamber of Commerce Awards 2016
- Winner of Best Small Business at the same awards, which Simone described as “a public tribute to the work of the whole team”
- Recognition for Investing in Young People, highlighting her commitment to apprenticeships and career development
- Vice-Chair of BESA (Building and Engineering Services Association) Scotland, championing engineering careers for women
- Vice-Chair of NAADUK (National Association of Air Duct Specialists UK), where she hosted the first Scottish NAADUK meeting
These awards and leadership roles illustrate how Simone has not only built thriving enterprises but also contributed to shaping professional standards, qualifications, ethics and respect across the ventilation hygiene and maintenance sector.
Diversification: Ecofleece UK and Aeme Scotland
Simone’s vision extends beyond duct cleaning, with leadership roles in two complementary ventures.
Ecofleece UK
As Managing Director of Ecofleece UK, Simone promotes a 100% wool filter system for kitchen extract systems. Instead of allowing grease to accumulate in ductwork and requiring frequent deep cleans, the wool filters trap grease upstream, reducing the load on cleaning operations and minimising disruption. This technology extends intervals between full duct cleans while reducing fire risk.
AEME Scotland
As Director of AEME Scotland, Simone oversees a training centre specialising in grease extract cleaning and fire damper testing. This work supports the continuous professional development of technicians and raises overall industry understanding, ensuring that the future of the trade is safer, more consistent and better regulated.
The Person Behind the Leader
Peers and employees alike praise Simone for combining technical rigour with empathy and energy. She is also a passionate advocate for women in engineering and building services, highlighting the importance of diverse role models in traditionally male-dominated fields.
Looking Ahead
As Perfect Service Solutions celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026, Simone Hart Sibbald stands as proof of what vision, resilience and leadership can achieve.
From a single idea to three thriving companies, her journey is a powerful reminder that ambition paired with expertise can transform industries. With her unstoppable drive and commitment to innovation, the next chapter promises to be her most exciting yet.
